2) Extra Layer of Waterproofing
They help waterproof the tent floor, reduce condensation, and add an extra layer to let the tent ‘breathe’ – especially on a grassy surface that is susceptible to dew. Lastly, groundsheets make it easy to mark your campsite area before setting up your tent. Groundsheets also help when it comes time to pack up your campsite. The groundsheet helps “leave no trace behind” so the campsite looks just as it did when you found it. In muddy or wet conditions it’s easier to clean a groundsheet than your entire tent.
