I’ve been a die-hard Mystery Ranch fan for a few years now, especially when wearing body armor. Today I had the chance to use the [Switchblade] pack with armor for a 10 mile hike, after removing that back pad… let me just say I think it outperformed my loved MR bags. Kind of comparing apples to oranges, however it was extremely solid. I’m a Joint Fires Observer in a Stryker unit. I find that the ability to utilize the Molle Panel with a radio pouch and some other small pouches for batteries and such; and then being able to completely separate my sustainment gear with the main bag is awesome. It allows me to able leave my sustainment gear on the truck when performing and assault or short duration patrol. Or even leaving it in a cache when performing dismounted OPs. Having that separation has proved to be an awesome utility.
